Introduction to our "Spice for Health" Series

Welcome to our new blog series - Spice for Health

One of my earliest contacts with spice was during my toddler years.  I had fallen once again and had a nasty bump on my head.  My mother made a paste with some turmeric heated in oil. She applied the warm paste over the bump, and in a short while, it disappeared.

Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and allows the blood to circulate.  Growing up, I was exposed to many home remedies of spices and herbs; from spicy ginger tea for colds and coughs, to steam from mint boiled in water as a decongestant.

In our Spice for Health series, we hope to share ideas, methods, and recipes of spices and herbs for a natural way to heal and stay healthy.

If you are looking for natural healing through foods, stay tuned and follow our blog.

As always, we welcome your thoughts and comments.
