(Pimenta dioica)

Appearance and Description

It is dried fruit, that is picked when still unripe and green, then traditionally sundried.  

  • Dark-brown in color after drying.

  • A pea-sized berry that resembles large peppercorns. 

  • Originates from Evergreen Pimento trees.

Flavor

  • A sweet, pungent mixture of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg.
